Capabilities — High Frequency PCBs

Introduction

As a leading high-frequency PCB manufacturer, Stream PCB produces both rigid and flexible high-frequency boards. Our high-frequency PCBs enable faster signal transmission for frequencies up to 100 GHz. While multiple materials are available for high-frequency applications, Stream PCB selects those with key characteristics such as low dielectric constant (Dk), low dissipation factor (Df), and low coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE). These materials are also used in our HDI technology-based PCBs.

Industries utilizing our high-frequency PCBs include RF/microwave, telecommunications, high-speed communications, and more.

Materials for High-Frequency PCBs

To achieve optimal high-frequency performance, we use specialized substrate materials tailored to the required signal speeds of the application.

From a cost perspective, FR4 is the most affordable option, while Teflon is the most expensive. However, FR4 has limited high-frequency performance, with significant signal degradation beyond 1.6 GHz.

With advancements in PCB materials, several new substrate types now offer excellent high-frequency performance. These materials, including Teflon, exhibit low Dk, low Df, minimal water absorption, and high durability, making them ideal for both rigid and flexible circuits operating in demanding environments.

For frequencies exceeding 10 GHz, Stream PCB uses these advanced substrate materials, ensuring superior signal integrity and reliability for high-frequency applications.

Our Material Suppliers

At Stream PCB, we source materials from leading suppliers such as Panasonic, Dupont, Taconic, Isola, and Rogers. These manufacturers produce specialized materials optimized for low loss and low Dk, ensuring superior performance in high-frequency PCBs.
